Ice Instructions

Two Ice Therapy Options

Option #1: Ice Pack

  1. Use a flexible, reusable ice pack that will conform to the contours of your body.
  2. Use a moist paper towel between the ice pack and your skin.
  3. Do NOT place ice directly on your skin
  4. Apply ice pack to injured area for 20 minutes
  5. Expect it to feel uncomfortable for the first 5 minutes until it numbs.
  6. Wait 1 hour before repeating.
  7. Repeat as Doctor recommends, usually 3-5x per day for 3-5 days.

 Option #2: Ice Massage

  1. Fill foam cup with water and freeze over night.
  2. After water has frozen solid, chip top rim of foam cup away exposing about an inch of ice.
  3. You now have an insulated handle (the foam cup) to use as you apply the ice
  4. Rub the ice on the injured area gently massaging the area. The ice will melt and become smooth and easy to glide over the skin.
  5. Always keep the ice moving. Do NOT hold ice in one spot
  6. Used a towel to collect dripping water from melting ice
  7. Apply ice for 10 minutes
  8. Wait at least 1 hour before repeating
  9. Repeat as Doctor recommends, usually 3-5x per day for 3-5 days
