Q & A

Q:  What can I expect on my first visit?

A:  On your first visit Dr. Cook will take a detailed health history, perform a physical exam, and talk to you about your health goals. Based on your clinical evaluation and health history Dr. Cook will recommend a treatment plan specifically for you based on YOUR goals.

If you plan on using Insurance please bring your card and provide us with ID, Group, &/or Claim Numbers.

Q:  Why do I need to come in so often?

A:  Most patients are accustomed to the “Medical Model”; they go to the doctor when they hurt, the doctor gives them a prescription for pain killers or antibiotics, the patient takes 1 or 2 pills a day until the prescription runs out. They may or may not follow-up with the Doctor in a few weeks or months.

Chiropractic is different from the “Medical Model” in many ways. First, we can’t put a chiropractic treatment in a bottle and send it home with the patient; the patient must be in the office to be treated.

Like a course of antibiotics taking just 1 or 2 pills or treatments is usually NOT enough to fix the problem. To be effective, Chiropractic treatments must be done consistently over a period of time.

Dr. Cook will always recommend the minimal number of visits necessary for achieving maximal results according to YOUR health goals.

Q:  How long will it take?

A:  Chiropractic is a natural medicine; we do not prescribe drugs or perform surgeries. As with all things in nature it takes time. Some patient experience immediate results while others take weeks or months to achieve their health goals.

Dr. Cook will take the time to talk to you about your specific circumstance and keep you informed throughout the treatment process.

Q:  How much will it cost?

A:  We accept most insurance plans and we offer a FREE benefits analysis. Provide us with your insurance information and we will let you know the exact cost of your care so there are no surprises.

No insurance, No problem. We offer cash discounts to patients paying at time of service.

For more savings ask about our Pre-Pay Plans.

Q:  Do you take X-rays?

A:  Not on every patient. Only on patients that need them. To determine if a patient needs X-rays Dr. Cook will first take a health history and perform an examination. If Dr. Cook thinks X-rays are needed he will explain why. The patient always has the right to refuse any procedure, including X-rays, for any reason.

Q:  Does Chiropractic hurt?

A:  No, it is not painful, in fact some patient notice immediate improvement after treatment.

Some patients experience mild soreness at the beginning of their care. Like starting a new exercise program, as we make changes to the body, we may get sore. It’s not that exercise or chiropractic is bad, it’s just that the body is adapting to new changes.
